13.3.2 ifmThinFilm material layer

ifmThinFilm simulates color hue changes caused by very thin coatings of refractive material. When the thickness of the coating is close to the range of wavelengths of visible light, interference causes shifts in the hue of reflected light. The effect is observable on certain types of anodisation (e.g. with titanium oxides), heated metals, gasoline spills, soap bubbles, and so on.
