    Default GPU Memory Error with caustics

    Hello together!

    I have a problem in rendering with gpu and caustics!

    If i render the scene without caustics, no problem but with caustics i get this error an fallback to the cpu mode!

    In the scene are 4 lenses in line with a lightsource (as display) this is a video beamer test.. .

    As CPU fallback it runs!

    Hi ThomasR,

    I guess you're using Iray for Maya 1.6, Caustic sampler enabled? If so, this is a bug in 1.6. We fixed it in Iray for Maya 2.0.
    When you're using IfM 2.0 we need a scene file to check what's wrong.

    Hi Thomas!

    I am assuming that you are using version 1.6. Unfortunately, the integerated Iray version may crash if the caustic sampler is enabled and the scene includes materials triggering an internal JIT compile. In short it is a bug in Iray.

    This bug is fixed in Iray for Maya 2.0.

    Yes, i use the 1.6!
    Ok then i have to wait for our it to install the RLM! ;-)

    Hi ThomasR,

    if you can't wait and your license guy is not for more then 30 days on vacation: You can use the 30 day trial coming with the new RLM even if you already used the old trial license.
