    Iray for Rhino version 1.2 released!

    We are happy to announce that version 1.2 of Iray for Rhino has been released.

    This is the release version of Iray for Rhino 1.2. Iray for Rhino is a dedicated render plugin for McNeel Rhinoceros that implements NVIDIA Iray to enable designers to quickly produce physically based, photorealistic visualizations of their work.

    Known Issues

    • 2 point perspective view not considered
    • Some emissive materials are not being shown in the Light Objects Tab
    • Turning lights on and off in the "Light Objects" Tab overrides the visibility settings of layers
    • When new texture directories under "Settings > Paths" are added, Rhino needs to be restarted for the directories to be considered


    • Units in displacement gui correct
    • Viewport iterations no longer overrides maximum iterations for final frame rendering when final frame rendering is triggered while Iray viewport rendering is active
    • Many minor fixes improving the stability of the plugin
    • Material assignment to a large number of geometry now much faster

    Is it only download and install or will there be an update for version 1.2 for existing Iray 1.161 Rhino users?

    Hi Stelios,

    in theory there should be an automatic update if you have the license manager installed. I will check to see if it has been provided so that it will be pushed. Otherwise use the installer which has the same effect and does not imply any waiting.

    same problem here.I have a Zotac Gtx 970.
    Update is only to users having " Pascal architecture"?

    masagera, you can use your existing hardware - if it was working before, it will also work after the update!
